- CMOS spectrometer UV‐coated CCD (PIXIS:2KBUV) from Princeton Instruments with an array size of 512 by 2048 pixels
- Fiber optic: 10‐m fused silica 0.4 mm diameter single‐core multimode fiber optic cable
- Two UV band‐pass filters, 280–320 nm and 280–380 nm
- RS‐232 serial computer
- Direct‐sun FOV to about 1.5°
V2 - 2010/2011
- Updated tracker and head sensor design
- Spectrometer: AvaSpec-ULS 2048x64, on-cooled back-thinned CCD with 2048 x 64 effective pixels and a total size of 29 mm wide and 1 mm high
- Tracker: Pan-Tilt Unit-D46-70 from FLIR Motion Control Systems, Inc.
- Fiber: 400 m core and 440 m clad diameter single strand fused silica fiber with a silicone jacket. Numerical aperture of 0.22, fiber lengths can vary from 3 m to 20 m, typically 10 m.
- Computer: Small notebook PC
V3 - 2018
- Spectrometer: AvaSpec-ULS 2048x64, on-cooled back-thinned CCD with 2048 x 64 effective pixels and a total size of 29 mm wide and 1 mm high
- Tracker: SciGlob/NASA tracker with 0.01° Step, mechanical encoder and improved Communication SW - tracker to PC.
